Thursday Prayers

On the last Thursday of every month we have a time of open prayer starting at 12.30pm. At the moment we are using Zoom. Please contact John for the Zoom link.

Zoom meditation on alternate Tuesdays at 10am

Offering space to be quiet with others and reflect on the "I AM"s of Jesus. Using scripture, poetry, imagery, music and silence to reflect or meditate on God’s promises to us.

Something old, something new, something borrowed

Saturday 4th December from 2pm to 3pm
A piano concert in Hawkshead Parish Church by Charles Edmundson
Part of the Hawkshead Christmas Fair
Cakes and hot drinks will be served from 12.30pm
The programme will consist of 16 relatively short pieces from all parts of Europe, and will end with pieces by American composers Scott Joplin and David Brubeck.
Something for everyone.


The Bible in Art for Advent and Christmas

Three sessions on Zoom, led by John Dixon, at 7.30pm on Tuesdays 30th November, and 7th and 14th December.
Each session will look closely and a particular work of art.
Anybody is welcome and no knowledge of art or the Bible is required. For the Zoom link please contact John.


The Young Explorers - Art, Science and Poetry exhibition by Hawkshead Primary School

Thursday 16th December, 2pm, St Michael's Church, Hawkshead
An environmental art project with artist Irene Rogan showing pupils how to make water collections and view them through a microscope to look at the ecology of their local pond. Using science to view the invisible creation of our world, inspiring art, poetry and photography! All welcome.
Refreshments available.

MITZVAH Day 2021

Laptop collection for Afghan refugees living in Cumbria
Collecting used laptops which are no more than 7 years old together with their chargers
The laptops will be securely erased by qualified professionals who will teach refugees to refurbish them ready to be distributed to afghan refugees living in Cumbria
Laptops should be delivered to :
Hawkshead post office
Main street, Hawkshead, Ambleside, Cumbria LA22 0NS


Also required :
Qualified IT engineers to refurbish laptops and train young adult refugees
